Will you ‘Give it Up’ or ‘Take it Up’ for Temple Street?

Give it Up…

sweetsFollowing on from the success of previous years’ Give It Up for Temple Street we are once again asking all our friends and supporters to think of Temple Street this Lent. It couldn’t be easier. Simply challenge yourself to give up something you love for 40 days and ask friends, family and workmates to sponsor you for your endeavours!

And if giving something up isn’t your thing then why not Take it Up for Temple Street and do it your own way…

Remember, it is a challenge so if you are giving something up make sure it’s something you really do love – giving up work or visiting the in-laws won’t inspire people to sponsor you! If chocolate is your vice why not ask people to sponsor you €5 – the price of a small Easter egg – or better still €10 for a large one! If it’s time to give alcohol a rest then the price of a G&T or bottle of beer could be an option. The easier you make it for people to support and sponsor you the harder it is for them to say no!

Take it Up…

If you can’t think of anything that you can live without for 40 days then why not take something up and runnersdo it your way….? You could do something completely different and rally support or you could take up something that you’ve been meaning to do for a long time like hillwalking, running, tap dancing, a fitness class or even knitting!

As they say it’s never too late to start something new so why not do it for Temple Street and support our little heroes.

You could train for one of our marathon events, or you could sign up to one of the many half marathons that are taking place all around the country. Many of these events take place towards the end of Lent giving you something definite to aim for – it’s always nice to show your supporters what you have achieved…

Whatever you decide to do we are here to help and support you every step of the way. So what are you waiting for?
