On Saturday 7th June 2014, over 1,000 cyclists took to the highways and byways of Co Meath to take part in the 3rd annual DID Electrical Cycle4Life. With three routes to choose from, cyclists of all abilities, young and old, got involved in the various cycles taking place.
The highlight for many was the chance to cycle alongside Irish professional cyclist Dan Martin with plenty of photographs taken at the finish line. This event continues to go from strength to strength and this year’s event looks set to bring the total raised over the last 3 years to an incredible €500,000.
“I’ve had the privilege of visiting the patients in Temple Street and the continued dedication of the staff to these children, for me, is truly inspirational. Seeing what has been achieved through Cycle4Life to date shows me that we all have the ability to make a real and lasting difference and makes all of us at DIDCycle4life even more determined to raise the bar. Cycle4Life is a part of cycling that I love doing. It really is a special day.”
We are so grateful to everyone involved in Cycle4Life – from organisers to participants – for their incredible kindness and support of our very special hospital.
