O’Brien Family cycle 128km for Temple Street

Meet the wonderful O’Brien Family who raised much needed funds for St Gabriel’s Ward, Jamie their son spent three months in  CHI atTemple Street.

On the 8th of August the family cycled 128km from Galway City to Clifden.  Danny, Ciara, and Joseph set off Saturday morning at 9 o’clock and arrived in Clifden at 6 o’clock that evening!

It was a tough cycle for the family, especially for Ciara who has never cycled long distance before but she was dedicated to the cause and pushed through! The sun was shining, and the family got to experience the beautiful scenery such as the lakes and the mountains along the Atlantic way of Connemara.

Kate O’Brien said “We are very proud of the family to be able to give back to the Temple Street family and thankful for all those who donated and supported.

Jamie is a two year old little boy that was diagnosed with a brain tumour on the 7th August 2019 at 17 months old and spent three months in Gabriel’s ward where he received the best care. Since then, Jamie has done amazing and overcome every obstacle that was put in his way. One year later Jamie has finally been given hope and we are so proud of him.”
