Meet Henry

henryHenry Donnelly was born on the 18th June 2015 and for more than two years, he was a resident of Temple Street Children’s Hospital. Little Henry was born with Down Syndrome and a number of related health issues including Laryngomalacia, Tracheomalacia and Leukaemia.

Named Henry Peter after his beloved granddad, during his time in Temple Street, he marked many milestones, celebrating many special days on the wards of the hospital including Top Flat, Surgical Flat, St Patrick’s Ward and ICU.

Despite what he’s been through, Henry always has a smile on his face for whoever comes to visit him – he’s even met a few famous faces along the way – with Kodaline, The Coronas, the Dublin Senior GAA Team and Danny O’Donoghue from The Script dropping by his bedside.henry 2

“When you see the amazing work that the staff does here every single day, it makes you realise that even the smallest donation towards the care of these little heroes in the hospital is the least we can do.”

Robbie, Henry's Dad

Today, Henry is back home in Offaly with his loving family. Dad Robbie says, “He is doing really well at the moment and is looking forward to his second Christmas at home. He really misses all of his doctors, nurses & therapists in Temple Street and sometimes gets so excited when we pop up for a visit for our check-ups. Henry is also starting pre-school very soon, so the next adventure in growing up is about to begin!”
