Tesco raises €1.3m for Temple Street!

charity partnerWe are absolutely thrilled to announce that Tesco has raised an exceptional €1.3 million for Temple Street since the partnership began in October 2014. Tesco also recently announced that they would be extending the charity partnership to the end of 2017!

We have been overwhelmed and humbled by the energy and the enthusiasm that Tesco staff has shown towards Temple Street. They have gone above and beyond in so many ways to make a real difference to our hospital.

We had a wonderful year of stores organising loads of fundraising events such as Great Irish
tesco gib2Bake in April, sweet treats with Lemonade & Lollipops in August and Magical Reindeer Food in December, to name but a few. In addition, our little patients have enjoyed some very special visits by Tesco staff dressed up as minions and superheroes.tesco superhero 1

For the 2nd year Tesco have supported the annual Temple Street Hospital Light up event by organising Cupid’s Christmas Fair, Magical Reindeer Food and Christmas Movie Theatre, which created great excitement within the hospital for patients, their families and staff.

All funds raised by Tesco colleagues and their customers are used to purchase badly needed state-of-the-art equipment for the hospital. This includes morphine pumps, ventilators, incubators and much more besides. This equipment very simply means the difference between life and death for our patients.

We have plenty of exciting activities planned for the year ahead and are really looking forward to working together once again in making a big difference in the lives of our little patients and their familes. From all of us here at Temple Street, we are so grateful to Tesco and to everyone who has supported their wonderful Temple Street fundraisers in 2015. Thank you for your phenomenal support!
