A message for Temple Street’s supporters
Positive changes for children’s health
Thanks to our incredible donors, supporters and volunteers, Temple Street has been providing care and treatment to over 147,000 sick children from all over Ireland each year.
With the exciting construction of Ireland’s brand-new children’s hospital well underway, there is a fantastic era ahead for the care and treatment of sick children in this country.
In January 2019, the legal structure of the three existing children’s hospitals – Temple Street Children’s University Hospital, Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin and National Children’s Hospital Tallaght – were merged under one new health group, Children’s Health Ireland (CHI). CHI will be dedicated to delivering first class care and cures for the children of Ireland long into the future.
We too must plan for the future to ensure that we can continue to support families, friends and patients on every step of their treatment journey – today and tomorrow, and in the future.
That’s why, from the beginning of 2019, Temple Street Foundation and CMRF Crumlin will come together to fight for sick children. We also envisage that the National Children’s Hospital Foundation in Tallaght will join us in becoming a single, unified family for all of Ireland’s sickest children.
This is simply our first step in ensuring we are stronger together, and geared up for supporting the new way that healthcare and research will be delivered to improve outcomes for sick children. We promise to keep our supporters, fundraisers and volunteers informed about these exciting plans in the months and years to come.
Right now, the funds donated and raised today will continue to focus with ever more urgency on the existing hospitals. Your donations will continue to transform the lives of sick children and their families. In 2019, we are committed to supporting the vital, life-saving work that happens in Temple Street – every minute of every day.
Sick children need great care right now – and we need all our supporters, fundraisers and partners by our side. It is crucial that we keep going, as much as possible doing what we always do, while we also future-proof, and plan to come together in the long term.
Thank you for staying by our side and for your generosity and kindness to every sick child in Temple Street.
