Rozanna Purcell Bakes it Better for Temple Street

Ready, set… bake!

Great Irish Bake Rozanna Purcell
Rozanna Purcell his helping Temple Street to get the nation baking!

Rozanna Purcell is helping to raise some dough for Temple Street Kids by encouraging the Irish public to take part in our Great Irish Bake, proudly supported by Tesco. We need families, businesses and schools to dust off their aprons on April 17th to raise vital funds for our hospital.

Roz, who describes herself as a food addict, is passionate about baking. Gooey chocolate brownies and millionaire shortbread are just a few of the mouth-watering desserts listed on her ‘Natural Born Feeder’ blog. Roz is turning her passion for food into good by raising awareness of our annual baking fundraiser.

“ It was such a humbling experience to meet some of Temple Street’s very brave little patients today. They have definitely inspired me to help raise as much money as possible to give these special children the help and care they need. So if like me you are happiest in the kitchen, then join me and get baking for all of Temple Street’s little heroes.”

Whether you’re at home, school or at work you can join in and help Temple Street to raise more than €150,000 from bake sales. This year we will embark on one of our most ambitious projects yet – the construction of a new Neurology and Renal Outpatients Unit. Paediatric Neurology and Renal Dialysis & Transplantation are two of the hospital’s major specialties; the expert care in these units is a life-line for children all over Ireland. In 2014, over 6000 children attended the hospital’s renal & neurology clinics and outpatient services for these critical specialties are currently run in cramped and crowded environments. Whilst the medical care is second to none, in many places, the hospital facilities are less than ideal.

Over the years, with the help of generous supporters Temple Street has transformed from what was once a series of inner city houses into the state of the art hospital it is today. But our work is not done. The fundraising team are focused on providing world class care for this and future generations.

The Great Irish Bake raises over €150,000 every year, helping to make Temple Street a better place and every day we witness the difference fundraising makes. So please everyone – bake it, buy it or sell it for our little fighters!
