Woodie’s is a 100% Irish owned DIY Store, with thirty-five branches nationwide.  As a major Irish retailer, in 2015 Woodie’s decided to establish an ambitious fundraising initiative across all their retail branches – the Woodie’s Heroes campaign.

The campaign set out to range funds for a range of Irish children’s charities, voted for by Woodie’s staff. In both 2016 and 2017, Temple Street Foundation was selected as one of the charity partners for this significant fundraising campaign.

Over four weeks, everyone in Woodie’s, from stores across the country to the support office in Dublin, worked together to find creative and fun ways to fundraise for their chosen charities. After the four weeks, an all-Ireland cycle ride takes place to mark the end of the campaign. Two teams travel 1,500km over five days to collect cheques from the company’s 35 stores – a truly heroic feat!

Over the two years of our involvement with the Woodie’s Heroes campaign, they have raised €123,416 for Temple Street. An enormous amount that goes a long way towards providing our little patients with the medical care, equipment and facilities they need and deserve.
Thank you Woodie’s for being a true hero to each and every child cared for at Temple Street!

Oracle is a leading global technology services firm, with a presence in Ireland.
Oracle Digital first partnered with Temple Street Children’s Hospital in 2015.

Their now annual “Walk of the Onesies” first took place in March of that year, with 25 people dressing up and walking the 15km from their offices in Eastpoint to Howth. They managed to raise €5,000 in much needed funds for patient services, and they’ve continued to build on that initiative every year since.

In 2017, the third year of the walk, Oracle had over 120 fundraisers raising an incredible €40,000 through this fantastic fundraising initiative!

Oracle say that the feeling of participation, contributing to a positive cause and fun across the company during the various fundraising activities has had a wonderful impact on their people and the business overall. For Temple Street, the funds raised by Oracle have allowed us to ensure that every child has access to the medical treatment and equipment they need when they come to the hospital in need of care.

Thank you Oracle for your incredible efforts to help our sick children!
