Brian O’Driscoll is a hero on and off the pitch

Leinster Rugby Team - Visiting patients
Brian visit’s his biggest fan Michaela with the Heineken Cup in 2011, much to her delight!

Rugby star Brian O’Driscoll has been a great ambassador, fundraiser and friend to our hospital. The kids at Temple Street wanted to say a special thank you for all he has done, as he prepared to line out for Ireland on home turf for the last time. So, they made him an emotional tribute video entitled #ForTheLoveOfBOD which was played in the Aviva Stadium on game day and went viral here and in the UK!

“I absolutely loved the Temple Street video – it was the most touching tribute I could have received. I was completely overwhelmed. Thanks so much to each and every one of the children… and i can confirm the secret to ‘getting good’ is definitely eating lots of broccoli and carrots!”

Brian O'Driscoll

For many of our children BOD is their hero. He has influenced the lives of patients, parents & staff in the hospital on and off the pitch for many years. #ForTheLoveOfBOD answers poignant questions such as “Why is Brian special?” and “What makes him so good?” What is clear from the offset – Brian O’Driscoll is their hero and inspiration.
