The weekend of the 11th and 12th July saw 8 Ribs (rigid inflatable boats) and support boats and crews leave Rice Bridge Waterford to navigate their way all around the Wexford Coast and up the Irish Sea as far as O'Connell Bridge in Dublin. The event started on Friday night at the Waterford Boat Club and then the crew headed off on Saturday morning at 9am to avoid the forecasted gale warnings. Stopping off at Kilmore Quay for a quick break they then made their way up to the Wexford Harbour Boat Club for a BBQ & charity night. Bracing the bad weather again early on Sunday the ribs navigated their way to Dublin with a very brief stop in Arklow and arrived at O'Connell Bridge at approx 4pm.

The Rib Run was organised by David Williamson and members of Waterford Motorboat and Yacht Club (WMYC) in association with the Irish Sailing Association (ISA) with help from the RNLI and Irish Coastguard. Many thanks from all at Temple Street!
