Time to put on your Blue Stack Shoes!
Big hearted community of Fosses, Co Donegal hosts 2nd Blue Stack Shoes Fundraising Festival for Temple Street Children's University Hospital.
The Blue Stack Shoes Festival (4th, 5th and 6th of June) is a unique charity event hosted by the community of Frosses, Co Donegal, to raise much needed funds for Temple Street Children's University Hospital. The event is fully sponsored by KN Networks under the guidance of Mr Donagh Kelly MD a native of Donegal so all of the proceeds go directly to the Hospital. This incredibly unique three day event sees supporters taking part in all sorts of unusual fundraising activity and promises to be a fun filled weekend for all of the family.
Established in 2008, the Blue Stack Shoes event has raised almost €86,000 for the hospital to date. The organizers plan to fund a new apartment in Dublin for use by parents of sick children from all over Ireland who need to spend prolonged periods of time at Temple Street.
Anyone who comes along to support the festival will be able to choose from a large variety of activities and entertainment, there really will be something for everyone! Lover's of Elvis will be invited to join "the kings convention" and even dress up as the star himself to climb Carnaween Mountain on Sunday the 06th June in what can only be described as a magical sight.....indeed there will be a prize for the best dress Elvis look-alike, with a very unique and special appearance from Jerry Scheff of the TCB band who played with Elvis for many years.
"We have designed our festival to be one that promotes our community and invites people from all over Ireland and further afield to come along and experience a harmonious fusion of craic, dance, live music and family fun. Our Elvis theme is repeated again this year as everybody knows we have our own Las Vegas in the hills of Donegal "- said Donagh Kelly MD KN Network.
Other events include the Fun Run, Soap Box Derby and Vintage Car Rally along with the Sky Diving Display and Children's Fancy Dress Disco. With plenty of Live Music and Helicopter rides, it is little wonder that this hugely popular festival has become a highlight on the Temple Street fundraising calendar.
