4th August 2009Event set to raise much needed funds for Temple Street Children's University Hospital
TV3 presenter Anna Daly was on hand to launch an exciting new charity partnership between the Irish Tag Rugby Association and Temple Street Children's University Hospital. As the founding body of Tag Rugby in Ireland, the Irish Tag Rugby Association (ITRA) is celebrating its 10th anniversary of organising and running Tag Rugby tournaments. The ITRA has chosen Temple Street Children's University Hospital as its charity partner for the Charity Blitz on Sunday 23rd August in Pembroke CC/Monkstown RFC, Sandymount, Dublin 4.
During the course of the day, tag teams from all over Ireland will enjoy competing in the tournament as well as a barbecue and entertainment in one of the city's best tag rugby venues. The cost to register a team of 12 for the Charity Blitz is just €150 with all proceeds going towards the purchase of vital, life saving equipment for the Hospital.
Since 2000, the ITRA has developed the game in Ireland to a point where today almost 20,000 male and female adults nationwide play each year in tag leagues (spring, summer, autumn and winter), beach tag blitzes and corporate events.
