ACBI is organising the first ever Dublin Craftbutcher week in June to follow on from the ‘Taste of Dublin event. As part of the event, over 50 Craft butchers will also be fundraising on behalf of Temple Street Children's University Hospital through organising raffles and having collections in their shops. Dublin football star Alan Brogan was on hand to lend his support to the campaign launch which took place at the Hospital.
ACBI Chief Executive Pat Brady said, ‘Last year Irish supermarket chains spent €62 million on advertising. Small or specialist food businesses have to box clever to get their message heard above this enormous wave of sound. The fact that we can help to raise much needed funds for a charity such as Temple Street during Dublin Craftbutcher week is another way for us to support local communities and we are delighted to be partnering with the Hospital for this event.'
The funds raised from this campaign will go towards the purchase of vital, life saving equipment for the hospital such as neo-natal incubators, ventilators and dialysis machines. Speaking about the partnership, Michelle McGoldrick, Senior Fundraising and Events Coordinator for the Hospital said ‘We are delighted to be partnering with the ACBI for Craftbutcher Week and would like to thank the members and indeed customers nationwide for their support.'
