Temple Street is asking you to help support children with serious brain and spinal conditions through our Neurosurgery Appeal for 2010. 

surgeon1_thumbnailPaediatric neurosurgery deals with patients suffering from diseases or injuries of the brain or spine.  These include patients with brain tumours, brain haemorrhage and spinal malformations or injuries as well as the treatment of some forms of cerebral palsy and epilepsy.

 

Temple Street Children's University Hospital is responsible for carrying out all Neurosurgery on neo-natal babies and children up to the age of 6 in Ireland. This also includes the removal of brain tumours in children under 6.

Cystic Fibrosis

Cystic Fibrosis and Respiratory Out-Patient Unit - €2.7 million

 

  • Our current building project is the development of a new dedicated Cystic Fibrosis and Respiratory Out-Patient Unit at Temple Street in accordance with international infection guidelines. This unit will be opened in 2010.

St. Michael's B Ward

The Tesco Ireland Charity of the Year 2007 Special Project - The St Michael's B Ward

Through the TESCO Charity of the Year campaign and the fantastic support of Tesco staff and customers we were able to fund the redevelopment of the St Michaels ‘B' Ward at Temple Street Children's University Hospital. This ward cares for neo-natal patients, premature babies along with babies and infants under the age of 18 months. These infants may have long-term debilitating illnesses, or be in need of surgical and/or medical care.

Parents Accomodation

'Home away from Home' project for families of sick children a huge success

your_homeThe Sherry FitzGerald "Your Home Away From Home" project was launched in early 2006 to assist the Hospital in purchasing a house on Fontenroy Street in Dublin 7 for use as parent's accommodation. We are delighted to announce that work on the house is complete and the house will now provide, for the first time in Temple Street's long and distinguished history, a home away from home for families from outside Dublin whose children are attending Temple Street, often with very serious illnesses.
