Are we there yet? 2010 Channel Relay Team for Temple Street
A brave team of 8 swimmers will be taking to the seas between the UK and France in the Channel Relay Swim as part of The Big Splash for Temple Street between 6th - 15th August 2010. All funds raised will go towards St Michael's C Renal Unit at Temple Street Children's University Hospital to purchase vital life-saving equipment to assist children suffering from renal conditions, renal failure and patients awaiting renal transplants. Aran Swim Challenge 2010
13 swimmers will be braving the Atlantic waters to swim from Inisheer Island (smallest of the Galway Aran Islands) to Doolin in August 2010 to raise vital funds for the Temple Street Neurosurgery Appeal to assist children suffering from serious brain and spinal conditions or injuries. Breccene's Solo Channel Swim 2010
Breccene Ennis will make his Big Splash this September by swimming the English Channel in aid of Temple Street. The swim will be 23 miles from Dover, England to France. Along with his support team Rob and Antone, Breccene hopes to complete this solo swim in 12 - 16 hours. What is The Big Splash?
The Big Splash is a sponsored swim or splash event to raise vital funds for Temple Street Children's University Hospital. This is a fantastic way to keep fit while also making a real and lasting difference to the children of Temple Street.
How can I make The Big Splash for Temple Street?
You do not have to be an advanced swimmer to take part in The Big Splash; you can be as creative as you like in setting your goal once you make sure that the challenge is within your ability. If you are in a class or a member of a particular club why not consider doing it as a team?
You can:
• Swim
• Dive
• Organise a Waterpolo competition
• Set an Aqua aerobics challenge
• Or set a smaller Splash along challenge for babies and toddlers
This challenge does not have to be confined to the swimming pool either. If you are a member of a water sports club such as canoeing or rowing you can also make The Big Splash for Temple Street.
What happens after I register?
After you register, we will send you:
• Your Splash Pack containing The Big Splash official swimming cap and sponsorship card and guidelines to help organise your event

As a registered supporter we will:
• Offer you support to ensure your Big Splash is a success by adding your pool / swim school's details to our site for prospective swimmers / 'splashers' in your area with a link to your official site
The benefits of being a part of The Big Splash:
• For Pools, Clubs or Classes The Big Splash is a great way of boosting your membership.
• Pools or clubs can use this challenge to raise the profile of your pool or swim school in the local community.
• Every participant will receive an official Big Splash certificate after completing their challenge to acknowledge your efforts.
• But most importantly The Big Splash is a fun way of raising money for a very worthy cause.
• Over 125,000 children come through the doors at Temple Street Children's University Hospital every year. With your help we can ensure that they receive the best possible standard of care by providing the most up to date vital life -saving equipment.
• The money raised from this year's event will help fund the purchase of items such as patient monitors, ventilators and mobile x-ray machines.
How do I get started?
All you need to do is:
• Pick a date for your event
• Set your challenge - whether it is a 2k swim or a toddle splash you will be making a big difference to the children of Temple Street.

• If you are in a club or water activity class why not spread the word and see if you can set a bigger team challenge
