Light Up a Child's Life

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

light_up_a_childs_life_for_temple_street_hospital_bannerAs an extra special way to help us Light up a Child's Life, on Thursday 8th December we will be lighting up the exterior of Temple Street Children's University Hospital using hundreds of light bulbs placed on the building.

Our very special patients & wonderful hospital staff will be invited to gather outside the hospital where a countdown will take place that evening. This is the first time our special hospital will be lit up during the festive season. Following the event, the hospital lights will be switched-on every evening for a period of time during the festive season.

We are asking companies to get involved and help to light up Temple Street by sponsoring a light bulb this Christmas.

Santa's Toy Fund

Christmas is often a difficult time for the children and their families to be in Hospital. So, we strive to make Christmas at Temple Street a very special time for all those in our care and have a close relationship with the big man in red to make sure he doesn't forget Temple Street kids on Christmas Eve.

temple_street_toy_fundIt is difficult to know exactly what children will be spending Christmas at Temple Street, therefore, this year we are creating a special toy fund, whereby instead of donating a present, you can contribute the cost of a present to the fund. This will help us to provide each and every child a suitable gift at Christmas and make sure each and every letter is answered.

To contribute to the Temple Street toy fund simply click on the button below and enter your donation amount and in the reference type TOY FUND, if you include your email address we will be sure to let you know on Christmas week exactly how you helped put a smile on the face of a sick child this Christmas.

To contribute to SANTA'S TOY FUND please click here to donate today

Once again, we're calling on supporters to help hit the streets as part of our ‘crazed' collection crew - selling ‘Spooky Spotlight' mini torch keyrings for just €2 to help raise much-need funds for the Hospital. It's a great way for transition year and primary school students, youth groups and other community volunteers to get involved in making a real difference in the lives of Ireland's sick children.

Trick or Treat is our only campaign where we rely solely on the support of volunteers for its success. The campaign runs over the last two weeks in October. Volunteers can register their interest online or contact Marianne Rowan at Temple Street Fundraising Office on 01-878 4639 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Primary School parties

trick_or_treat_for_temple_street_tabStaff and students from Primary Schools nationwide are invited to take part in the Trick or Treat for Temple Street campaign by hosting a frightfully good fancy dress party at school on Friday, 28th October 2011. Children can be asked to come to school in fancy dress and contribute a small amount, such as €2, to the Trick or Treat for Temple Street campaign.

This year, by hosting a Halloween party, primary schools will be in the running to win a €500 voucher for library books, courtesy of Gill & Macmillan Primary.

Halloween games such as Bobbing for Apples and prizes for the best fancy dress costume all add to the fun of the day! Children can bring their own ‘treats' to the party so that there is no cost involved for the school and Temple Street will supply a party pack with themed decorations for the party. Your local paper may also like to print pictures of the children dressed up and enjoying the party whilst helping a very worthwhile cause.

To give your school the chance to win €500 worth of library books, register your party via the online registration form or contact Marianne Rowan at Temple Street Fundraising Office on 01-878 4639 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Parties for big kids

Halloween is for big kids too! Kids at heart can also join in the fun and host a Halloween party. Temple Street will help you out by providing a free party pack with all the decorations you'll need.

Spread the word about your party online by tweeting using the hashtag #templestreettot

Just register your party via the online registration form or contact Marianne Rowan at Temple Street Fundraising Office on 01-878 4639 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
