We are delighted to announce that Tesco staff and their customers have taken the little steps to make a BIG difference by raising an amazing €2.3million for our brave little heroes in Temple Street.
Over the past two years, the support the hospital has received from Tesco has been so uplifting and means the world to our brave patients and their families.
Over the course of 2016 across the country, Tesco staff were busy organising fundraisers such as football tournaments, talent competitions, cycles and marathons to name but a few events.
Some of the big achievements of the year included raising €155,000 from the annual Great Irish Bake for Temple Street, €150,000 by hosting Ireland’s Biggest Fancy Dress Party and €100,000 was raised at the annual CEO Golf Classic, which was kindly supported by Tesco suppliers.
In addition, Tesco have raised the spirits of our patients and their families with donations of beautiful flowers, toys and special goodie bags for Mother’s and Father’s Day. They played such a big part in supporting our annual Christmas Light Up event with fun activities from Magical Christmas Markets to virtual sleigh rides!
The funds raised have allowed Temple Street to buy vital life-saving equipment and this is having a hugely positive impact right across the hospital; helping to create a more comfortable environment for our patients and staff. Over the past twelve months, we’ve been overwhelmed and humbled by the energy and the enthusiasm that Tesco colleagues have shown and the support they have received from their customers, all have gone above and beyond in so many ways.
Tesco has plenty of exciting activities planned for the year ahead and we look forward to their continued support in helping those who need it most in 2017.
